    Texture Not Converted

This is probably ignorance on my part as I am more familiar with the coding aspects of Flash than the 3D.

When I import a .3ds file using the ImportFreeSpin3D dialog window, only the .png file or mdf file is created.  The texture (.jpg) file is not created.

The downloaded 3d files from FreeSpin, however have both the .png (mdf) file and a .jpg (texture) file.

When I import the 3d model into flash the model doesn't have the textures.  Is the texture .jpg file created through the conversion or should it be exported from 3d studio max?

    Re: Texture Not Converted

I am not a 3D guy so I am not going to try and explain as I may confuse someone, but I have figured out the answer to my question. There should be a seperate texture .jpg file created from 3ds studio max or other 3D application.  Once this was done I was able to import the texture.  Thanks.

In the next versions we address this issue and will make it easier.

    Hi

I was trying out using Blender to export as 3DS. The 3DS converter function results the zip without the texture file - as all reported.

I cannot find any texture file - also within blender (help me to find if you know).

Can you tell me WHEN a new release which solves this problem comes?

    Best regards.

    Re: Texture Not Converted

Texture files are not created automatically, and many models are created without them.
The texture is a bitmap, which can be of type - .jpg .bmp .png etc.
Basically we support .JPG format, but if you have other format, just convert it to .jpg

Did you import a 3D model to blender, or created one yourself?
If you imported the model, it might have its texture files.
If you created the model yourself, you should create the textures and "stretch" them on the model.
Regarding how to use blender, please refer to its help, or its forum.
