    import problem i think

i am not sure if i got a problem with the importer but i don`t see any 3d object only texture and static picture

i have problems with importing i think. i am not sure if it is a problem because i do get files, a folder with the .png(.mdf) and .jpg pluss 2 move clips sybols. but thats it, no 3dobject that i can move around. when i got in that import window. commands > ImportSpin3d(or something) and try to press import i select the png(.mdf and it looks like static after import) in the model folder. (nothing happens) and i can`t press the "next" button after. when i "close" window i get the folder but what can i do with it?..

i notice something in output window :

Attemping to launch and connect to Player using URL C:/Documents and Settings/kurs/My Documents/Flash DOC`S/3dEngien/1-app.xml
    [SWF] 1.swf - 374987 bytes after decompression
    Debug session terminated.
    ERROR: (Swift 3D Importer - File: audi_T0.jpg)
Invalid SWFT file - Import Aborted.

I got swift3d importer, could it have something to do with that?

    or

did i do something wrong, did i?

Im not sure about the swift3d ,

but if you have the folder with the texture (.jpg) and the .png (mdf) then you have your model.

you wont be able to view the model though until you drag a spin3d into your presentation.

after you do that you should see a big gear on your screen.

if you dont have the properties inspector open for spin 3d do so in the window menu i believe, i have mine nested with the

regular properties inspector.in the  spin3d inspector upper left theres a menu says model with a tab hit the tab , you should now see your model name.select it , you wont see it until you click the big red button to the right on mouse over it says live preview click it .you should see your model skinned already. above the red button theres 2 other buttons ones wire frame and other is textured.if im explaining the

obvious to you im sorry but id rather cover it than you not know.let me know if you get that to work then we can move on from there ok.

as i said though im not sure about the swift importer or if it has a conflict with spin3d. hopefully one of the fine programmers here can answer that one for you.

i think i know the problem now, if i did not missunderstand you.

i don`t have a gear in the Components menu or anything like a spin3d folder.

i got the following folders in the components menu: Data, Media, UserInterface, Video, fsmp3playerv15....

and i don`t have a properties inspector menu.

did you mean components inspector? because i did not find the properties inspector.

    is there more to install?

but thanks for all the help. it would be cool if it had worked.

Spin3d should be in your components Menu it will say Freespin3d ,theres a little red gear that in its submenu entitled FreeSpin3d ,drag that to the work area like any other component in flash ,

once you do that ,goto  window/other panels/FreeSpin3d click on that a menu will popup ,thats the property inspector for the models.

make sure that you are opening a blank AS3 project. instead of a AS2

yes use a new as3 project file , also i would go ahead and skin your model , i dont believe there is any way to do it after

conversion, even if its just grey or simple colors , you can edit to your desire afterwords.

also i havnt been here in 2 weeks really, there may be a newer version to dl , im going to check , hope that helped.
