If you want to load a 3DS model with non-JPG textures suce as BMP, PNG, GIF etc,
just convert them to JPG files in the same folder. (e.g. filename.bmp >> filename.jpg)
I tried to rename a BMP file to JPG. Still the viewer couldn't show the textures.
Rename is not enough since it keeps the file in BMP format.
You have to open it with a drawing application (Paint, Photoshop etc.)
and it save as <filename>.jpg
will there be support for .png lossless format ?
Yes there will be. its in the development plans.
